The active ingredient in ELLORA DUO, tembotrione inhibits the four hydroxy-phenylpyruvate- dexygenase (4 HPPD) enzymes. The inhibition of the enzyme prevents the production of carotenoids, which are plant pigments. Depletion of carotenoids deprives chlorophyll, where photosynthesis occurs, of its defence against an excess of light, causing chlorophyll bleaching. Within a few days of treatment, the complete weed-control effect of ELLORA DUO activity is evident, and its symptoms manifest quickly.
